Wicked Important Dates: Evals & Gear-Swap, Registration Deadline and Opening Day!



Just a reminder about some key dates as we get ready for the Spring Baseball Season:

Saturday, March 26th - Minors and Majors Evaluations and Equipment Exchange Drop Off:

MYB will be hosting the evaluations on Saturday March 26, 2022 (with a rain date of Sunday March 27, 2022) from 9AM to 11AM.
  • 9 year-olds report to Field 1
  • 10 year-olds report to Field 5
  • 11 and 12 year-olds report to Field 6

Please try and arrive 15 minutes early to allow adequate time to check in. Bring your glove, helmet, bat, etc. If your child has a jersey or shirt with his or her name on the back please wear it to help coaches identify who each player is. We will provide a masking tape name ID for players that do not have a shirt with their name on it.

Clean out your garage for the MYB Equipment Exchange! MYB will be collecting used baseball equipment at the Otis Street Ball Fields on Saturday March 26th. Items to be collected may include: Balls, Bats, Gloves, Catcher's Gear, Bags, Training Tools and gear (pants/shirts/sweatshirts/jackets/socks, etc.).MYB will have all of the gear collected on the 26th available for distribution on April 2nd during the field opening.

Have gear to donate, but can't get to the fields on the 26th? No problem! Email Maria Wilson [email protected] to make arrangements.

Thursday, March 31st - Registration Closes!

To register, please visit www.mansfieldyouthbaseball.org. Registering early helps MYB plan for the season ahead, and please be aware that players registering after the deadline are not guaranteed a spot on the team.

Saturday, April 2nd - Field Opening and Gear Swap

On Saturday, April 2nd at 8:00AM we will be opening the fields and could use some help to get the complex ready for the season. The more people that show-up the quicker we will be out of there! Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Things to get done:

  • Cleaning out batting cages and dug outs
  • Setting up picnic tables
  • Walk all fields and complex picking up trash
  • Put out sponsor banners
  • Put out all trash barrels at complex

Things to bring:

  • Step ladders (to hang nets)
  • Gloves
  • Rakes
  • Garbage bags
  • Backpack blowers (to blow out dug-outs and bleacher areas)
During the field opening event, we plan to have all of the Equipment Exchange gear we collected on the 26th available at the Pavilion for any player or family member to pick up any items that they may need for this season. Items will be free and you will not need to donate in order to take any gear or equipment. It will be the responsibility of the "buyer"' to inspect and clean any of the equipment prior to it being used by their athlete. Any equipment that is not taken at the exchange will be donated following the event. Thanks,
